TECHNICAL CAPABILITY / PDR

Preserve the finish.
Respect the panel.

Paintless Dent Repair reshapes suitable cosmetic dents in existing metal panels, with the aim of retaining the paint finish.

THE METHOD

Assessment leads.
The tools follow.

A visible dent is only part of the information. Paint condition, panel construction, body lines, access and surrounding distortion all influence the method.

01

Inspection

Read the reflection and establish the affected area. Consider prior repairs, the condition of the finish and the intended result.

02

Access-led pushing

Where safe and appropriate, specialist tools work from behind the panel with controlled movement and repeated reflection checks.

03

External pulling

Glue-pulling methods can support selected repairs where the finish and substrate are suitable. Paint adhesion and previous refinishing require particular care.

04

Finishing and review

High spots and residual distortion are assessed under suitable lighting. The final result is reviewed against the scope agreed before repair.

MATERIALS & GEOMETRY

A method is never
one-size-fits-all.

01

Steel and aluminium

Different materials and panel designs respond differently. Suitability and finish expectations are assessed for the individual vehicle.

02

Creases and body lines

A concentrated impact or styling feature can make a small dent technically demanding. Size alone does not determine repair difficulty.

03

Modern vehicle systems

Access planning must account for glazing, wiring, reinforcement, airbags and vehicle-specific procedures. A cosmetic repair must not compromise another system.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Know what to expect.

Can every dent disappear completely?

No. Paint condition, deformation, material and access all affect the achievable result. A repair may be suitable for full cosmetic correction, improvement only or referral.

Does PDR mean no dismantling?

Not necessarily. Safe access may require the appropriate removal and reinstatement of trim or other components. This is considered during assessment.

Is glue pulling safe on repainted panels?

A refinished or weakened coating may detach under pull. Paint history and adhesion risk must be assessed before selecting the method.

Is this structural repair?

No. Our PDR offer concerns suitable cosmetic panel damage. Structural damage and safety-related repairs need the appropriate specialist route.
